This Storm Is Never Ending!

For those of you who don't watch the WNBA or for those of you who do, you should at least pay attention to one certain team. This team has an amazing forward/center who was Player of the Month in May and is unstoppable on the court. She has fierce red hair, (which she recently dyed), and has a beautiful three-point shot. This player not only is amazing on the court, but also off the court as well. She holds camps for kids throughout the WNBA season and teaches them basketball skills they need to learn. This player is Lauren Jackson. She is one of the main leaders on and off the court for the 12-2 Seattle Storm.

The Storm has been very dominant in the WNBA so far into the season. They have blown out teams by 20+points multiple times and aren't looking to slow down. However, a team can't succeed with just one good player. Good thing the Storm has more leaders on the court! This next player is the point guard, the heart and soul of the team. She directs traffic on the court and makes sure everything goes as she wants it. Ah...but don't be fooled, this point guard can SHOOT! This player is Sue Bird. Sue has the most amazing running jumper you will ever see in the WNBA, maybe even in the NBA too. From watching her for so many years, I still can't believe her shot. She can just run up the floor, immediately hit the brakes at the free throw line, and then hits the jumper!

Sue and Lauren are clutch players down the stretch, but there is another player that I would be happy to have on my team. This is the 6-1 Forward from UConn, Swin Cash. She can hit shots left and right when she's on and very dangerous when left open on the court. Even the name Swin Cash sounds great! She joined the team in 2008, (years after Sue and Lauren were on the team), and  adjusted nicely with the team's style of play. Similar to the Boston Celtics, Sue, Lauren, and Swin are the "Big Three" of the Storm.

However, the Celtics are leaning towards having the "Big Four"with Rondo, and so do the Storm. The Storm has a fantastic starting line-up, with T-Wright and Camille Little, either one acting as that fourth and fifth addition to a great team. Overall, if you are going to follow a WNBA team this year, look to the Storm as your team. They won't disappoint! I'm predicting the Storm will be WNBA Champions for the 2010 season! I mean ...who wouldn't? Would you?
